It’s been one year since we began our “Compostable” chip bag experiment. http://www.naturesperfectplantfood.com/2011/06/03/chip-bags-to-the-test/ as you can see, the material is unchanged from our last update six months ago. It is degrading but hasn’t really composted in the worm bin. The worms do not use it for bedding and can not ingest it. We’re bringing out the big guns. We’ve transferred the bag into one of our other composters, this time we’ll see how the Earth Machine handles the job. This compost does have worms in it over the warm months so we’ll see if anything changes from now till October.
