It’s always a good idea to add some cardboard to your worm bin every now and then.  Thick corrugated cardboard has the bulk to last longer, provides extra air space and possible egg laying sites for your worms.  While all types of bedding add to the carbon content of your vermicompost, it also acts as a source of aeration and sometimes even food.  Bedding also helps to manage the moisture levels in a bin.
